Who are we?
Winsford Mind is an informal drop-in centre for people with long and short term mental health problems.
We are a registered charity affiliated to National Mind. The group was formed in 1995 and is now based in the centre of town making it more accessible.
We are a registered charity and we receive funding from Cheshire County Council and Central Cheshire Primary Care Trust. Other funding is from small grants and ongoing funding by members.
Who the group is for?
Winsford Mind is for people between the ages of 18 and 65 years old, we offer a range of services and information to people experiencing mental health problems in the Vale Royal area, for how ever long they need it. Members are encouraged to get involved in the planning and running of the service.
Opening Times:
We are open Monday through to Friday and closed Saturdays and Sundays. Our opening times are-
Monday 10:00 - 17:00
Tuesday 13:00 - 18:30
Wednesday 10:00 - 17:00
Thursday 15:30 - 21:00
Friday 10:00 - 16:30
Our Aims and Objectives:
- To provide an effective local service.
- To reduce the likelihood of recurrence of mental health problems by offering support to individuals who live in the community or are preparing for hospital discharge.
- To encourage people to be a valued part of their local community by supporting their use of local amenities.
- To provide social, leisure and educational opportunities.
- To reduce the stigma associated with mental health.
